The Local Area
Both of our properties are Set on a 375 acre working farm in a beautiful quiet rural location close to the Devon/Cornwall border, where Mrs. Linda Banbury will welcome you to visit the farm.
You can meet the traditional farmers milking the Holstein Friesian dairy cows twice a day and they will have great delight showing you the calves being fed, cows milked and the beef cattle roaming the fields. You are welcome to join in with every day life on the farm. There is always much to see and plenty going on.
The local area is renowned for its natural beauty, with countryside a million shades of green and rolling hills. Just north between the magnificence of Dartmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor, with endless walks, breathtaking views and swathed in ancient history, while the vibrant market and stannery town of Tavistock is just a short drive away, with its plethora of shops, cafes and restaurants and fabulous market.
The beaches on the Northern Coast of Cornwall are plentiful, miles of golden sand and rugged cliffs stretching to the vast Atlantic Ocean, punctuated by pretty coastal villages such as Boscastle, Port Isaac or Tintagel, while to the South, lies the historic naval city of Plymouth, with its many marinas and attractions. Whatever you choose, come back to your retreat at the end of the day, recharge, relax, rejuvenate and sleep, but watch out for the bears!
While visiting the farm, we can recommend many local pubs, restaurants and beauty salons for pampering. Please speak to Katie and Richard, who will be happy to help.
